Susi is an internationally recognised leader in medical appraisal, professional standards and medical education with over 30 years experience. Across her career, she has held influential national roles with the NHS Revalidation Support Team (RST), the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) and the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (AoMRC), helping to shape the direction of medical appraisal and revalidation across the UK. As an innovator, researcher and public speaker, she has presented regularly on appraisal matters at the Ottawa Conference on the Assessment of Competence in Medicine and the Healthcare Professions / International Conference on Medical Education (Ottawa /ICME), Professional Standards Authority (PSA) and International Association of Medical Regulators (IAMRA) conferences, as well as RCGP and appraiser conferences in all four nations of the UK.

From 2008, Susi led the 'Wessex Appraisal Service' within Wessex Deanery (later Health Education England Wessex). From a starting point of educational and developmental appraisals for Dorset GPs, she grew the Service to support c.3,000 doctors each year through high quality appraisals and training. When Health Education England merged with NHS England in 2022, only the NHS appraisals were taken in house. Susi founded Wessex Appraisal Service Ltd in 2022 with a clear vision: to deliver appraisals and training that are not only rigorous and expert led, but also supportive, personalised and empowering.
